Fire ISTJ — Dynamic Steadwarden

Card 42 of 80 Fire ISTJ — Dynamic Steadwarden

Duty on the surface, a banked fire no one is allowed to see.

The Fire ISTJ

Two halves of the name pull opposite ways, and that's the whole card. Steadwarden is built from steadfast and warden: a keeper of what has already been proven. Dynamic is the fire half, heat that wants an audience. In this framework fire runs outward and expressive, while ISTJ runs inward and structured. The two oppose on both axes, so fire ISTJ reads as a gap type, and a strong one. That isn't a flaw line. It's a sealed chamber. The warmth the other fire forms spend in the open gets spent inside instead, holding one shape steady. And the shape does hold.

At the send-off for a teammate of four years, the gladness is genuine and it's large. What reaches the surface is a handshake and a level "take care." Someone says afterward that this type seemed a little cold about it. The reading is wrong, and it's also fair, because nothing on the outside contradicted it. Heat that stays sealed tends not to register as heat at all. One small counterweight sits on the earth side of the cycle. Thirty minutes, the same weekday each month, entered under the same heading as any work commitment. Nothing owed at the end of it. Not a hobby to get good at, but a fixed place where the heat is allowed to move.

The Other Four ISTJ Forms

This is one version of ISTJ. Four more are waiting under the other elements — same core wiring, entirely different weather.
