The Fire INFJ

Two roots make Veilseer: veil, the cloth stretched across what a room won't say out loud, and seer, whoever reads straight through it anyway. Dynamic is the fire half, conviction that wants to be watched burning. The two halves split on direction and hold together on feeling. Fire pushes outward, and INFJ turns inward instead — a clean split on the energy axis. Nothing opposes on the processing axis, though. Both run on inner current rather than structure, the same undertow under two different surfaces. The inward pull wins on balance, so fire INFJ reads as a strong gap type. It's sight with little appetite to announce itself.

At a friend's engagement party, the parents pose for a photo with the couple, arms around each other, smiling on command. This type is the only one who catches it. A half-second of real stiffness between two people who used to get along easily. Nobody else will ever know that happened. Saying it out loud would only make things worse, for everyone, including the couple. A standing slot kept open on the wood side of the cycle carries what gets seen and not said. One evening set aside to write down, just for the record, what actually happened underneath the smile, word for word if it helps. Not sent to anyone. Just kept somewhere the seeing has to go besides down.
