The Fire ISTP

Nothing about this name's two halves points the same way, not even slightly. Tinkerwright is tinker plus wright, someone who takes a broken thing apart to see what it's actually made of. Dynamic is the fire half, heat that wants to be seen doing the fixing. Fire runs outward and expressive here while ISTP runs inward and logical, a clean opposite on every axis involved. Nothing about the two halves lines up. That total opposition reads fire ISTP as a strong gap type, the deepest one fire has on offer. A fire that only ever shows up as a fixed thing working again.

At a friend's backyard gathering, a guitar string snaps mid-song. This type is already restringing it before anyone's finished groaning about it. Nobody watches. The conversation just keeps moving around the repair like it isn't happening. Ten minutes later the song picks back up, and nobody mentions who fixed it, which is fine, mostly. A handoff on the earth side of the cycle gives the fixing somewhere to land besides silence. One line to whoever owns the guitar, sent after, naming what was actually wrong with it and what it took to fix. Not a request for thanks, just a record that the work happened at all, in case it matters later.

Strengths

When something unexpected happens on-site, you can improvise a solution with nothing but whatever tools and conditions are already at hand. The more the plan falls apart, the calmer you actually get.
You'd rather bet on trying something once than play it safe. Your hands move before your head has finished overthinking, letting you be the first to jump into an experiment everyone else is still hesitating over.
You're self-sufficient enough to see something through to the end with no instructions at all. You hold the whole process in your head and can carry it from start to finish without leaning on anyone.

Blind Spots

You're fast at solving the problem right in front of you, yet the instant you clear the interesting peak, your interest just switches off. The unglamorous leftovers — finishing touches, cleanup — tend to get left half-done, over and over.
The more explicitly someone tells you "do it this way," the less willing you feel to follow it — even when the instruction is correct. Your need to verify things yourself before acting can easily be misread, in an organization, as being difficult to manage.
